Thomas, it’s competition first: complex mergers, tricky cartel or vertical restraints cases, abuse of dominance, his 25 years of experience before competition authorities allows him to quickly grasp the issues and the flaws of the cases to deliver a “seamless” assistance. His credo: be available. He puts all his energy into serving the client, his defense but also his projects, from real-time assistance in investigations and other “dawn raids” to assistance in judicial cases of unfair competition or complex compensation procedures (private enforcement), including in futurum investigation, mediation or pure litigation dimensions.
Because crises can be managed, but they can also be anticipated, he has also specialized in the field of competition compliance (design of compliance programmes, videos or e-learning based). In particular, he has developed a recognized competence as a trainer in competition law for lawyers, but also for compliance officers and non-lawyer operational staff by means of an interactive teaching method based on practical examples.
Thomas has taught for many years at the postgraduate level and is still a lecturer at Sciences Po Paris (international and comparative competition law) and a at the Paris Bar School (“EFB”) – a way for him to stay in touch with the evolution of the law as well as with the younger generations. Logically, he leads the firm’s “training” practice. He has been appointed, in 2023, by joint order of the Garde des Sceaux, Minister of Justice, and the Minister of Higher Education and Research, member of the Commission nationale d’accès au CRFPA (National Board of Bar Schools).
Interestingly, he has repeated his military service: reserve commander (RC) of the French Navy, he teaches, among other missions, oratory techniques at the Navy Center for Strategic Studies and at the War College (“Ecole de guerre”). He is a regular speaker at the Centre for Advanced Military Studies. However, this sailor at heart is not without contradiction, since he is also an airman when the weather and the cases allow it.
A synthetic mind, he knows how to grasp the main lines of force of the cases and to expose clearly the stakes and the strategies. Very comfortable speaking – he teaches eloquence and argumentative and oratory techniques – he is a litigator as well as a technician.
Member of the Board of Directors of the APDC (Association of lawyers practicing competition law)

Thomas is a graduate of the Ecole des Hautes Etudes Commerciales (HEC School of management), majoring in international legal and tax strategy, and of Sciences Po Paris (public service section). He holds a postgraduate degree (“DESS”) in Business Law from the University of Paris Sud and the certificate of aptitude for the profession of lawyer. Finally, he is an auditor of the 67th national session of the Higher institute for national defense studies (“Institut des hautes études de défense nationale”). He was sworn in in 1998.
